Stay Unagi.

Unagi Ventures builds, buys, and backs brands that help people move better, live healthier, and be better humans. A little better every day.

The Unagi sealiykyk
The story

We got the word wrong on purpose.

In Japanese, unagi means freshwater eel. Delicious. Not our business.

Then a certain '90s sitcom character decided it meant something else entirely. A state of total awareness. Always ready for whatever comes next.

He was wrong. We liked his version better.

So we kept it. Then we built a company on it.

If you know, you know. If you don't, now you do.

What we stand on

Kaizen, the Unagi way.

Every brand, business, and service we build, buy, or back stands on the same four things. It isn't a framework. It's how we live, and how we build.

We take the work seriously. Ourselves, not so much.

  1. 01

    Aware.

Notice what matters. The people in front of you, the details, the moment you're in.

  2. 02

    Ready.

Do the hard work first, so you can show up when it counts. Readiness is a form of respect.

  3. 03

    Kind.

Be a good human. Honestly, that's the whole point.

  4. 04

    1% better.

Excellence isn't a finish line. It's a little better than yesterday, every single day.

The Unagi seal
The Unagi seal

If our name is on it, we mean it.

A business we build. A partner we work with. A community we show up for. Whatever Unagi takes on, the seal stands for the same four promises.

People firstEvery decision starts with the people it affects. Customers, partners, teams, and families.
Honest, alwaysClear words and fair terms. If we say it, we do it.
Sweat the detailsTrust is earned in the little things, so that's where we spend our attention.
Leave it betterEvery business, relationship, and community we touch should be a little better for it. 1% at a time.

Kidding Me

Kids don't read texts from their parents. They glance at their home screen a hundred times a day.

Kidding Me puts reminders, chores, messages, and a little encouragement right there. Parents run it from their phone. Kids see it at a glance. Always on, always current.

A note from the founder

Yes, the name is a joke. The idea behind it isn't.

I'm a husband, a father, and a son. We have three generations under one roof, and nothing teaches you to pay attention quite like that.

By day, I work in enterprise data and AI. I've led global teams and sat in a lot of rooms where technology was supposed to fix everything. Here's what I've learned. It never does on its own. The best outcomes still come from people who care enough to get the details right.

Unagi Ventures is where I put that lesson to work in real life. We build, buy, and back the brands, products, and services that help people move better, live healthier, and be better humans.

Our first is a stretch studio opening here in North Texas. Next is Kidding Me, an app that helps parents reach their kids the way kids actually pay attention.

Different businesses. Same standard. Perfection is expected. Excellence is accepted. And tomorrow, we get a little better.

Our time is short in the grand scheme of things. May as well make every day worth it.

Stay Unagi,
